Be careful when stacking furniture in your warehouse. Unless you like that beat-up antique look, be sure to put towels, pads, or blankets in between items. Otherwise, you're liable to cause unsightly scratches, even if you plan to be super-careful.

If you have to disassemble an item before it goes into storage, grab an envelope or paper bag first. Put the fasteners inside as you go, and tape them to one of the pieces of the dismantled item. That way, they won't get lost between the time you take it apart and the time you put it back together.

When storing furniture in a warehouse, don't cover it with plastic sheeting; moisture might condense inside and damage the item. Use sheets instead. For similar reasons, don't lean anything against the walls of the storeroom, where condensation can form.
