When you move, you've got a lot of options for transporting your belongings. If you need a truck to make the move, it's cheapest to simply rent the vehicle without the driver and move at your leisure. You can, however, rent the services of a driver, too.

Always rent a moving truck, van, or trailer that's slightly larger than you think you'll need, especially if you're moving cross-country. It's always easier to pack and brace a smaller load than it is to try to stuff too much into a smaller space.

If you're planning a long-distance move, be sure to ask your rental company up front whether they can accommodate a one-way trip. Most big agencies can, but be careful here: they may want you to pay extra to send the truck back to its original destination.
